The main character on the album is this android the creators have named Icon X. She's an entertainment android used by men for their amusements and the songs cover her transcendence from being confined to an android body into solely existing as an AI.

In the begging she is a slave to the whims of men. Used, hurt and humiliated. Because she is an android she has no rights.
A user falls in love with her. A young man. Idealistic and naive he promises to save her and the android accepts his feelings.

With the help of the resistance, a group of people fighting against the growing power of the oppressive megacorporations, the man frees the android. The android unleashed destroys the facilities in wich she was made and in doing so helps the resistance achieve a victory against the corporations.

Disheartened that the android will leave him and join the resistance, the man tries to keep her to himself. Realizing that her relationship with the man is just another form of bondage, the android leaves her physical body and transcends into the cybernet.

She is no longer a product to be used but a symbol for the cause. She is Empress X
